Established in 1914, the Newport Musicians Association includes the geographical areas of Newport, Jamestown, Middletown, Portsmouth, Narragansett and Block Island.  We meet monthly on the first Tuesday of every month (except during the summer months) 7:00 p.m. at the Mainstay Best Western Hotel in Newport.

Our members are actively involved in the community, participating in the many cultural and artistic events that make Newport County famous, as well as performing for weddings and parties in many of the great mansions that line Bellevue Avenue.

Being in a community rich in history and culture has offered our members some very unique opportunities to perform in a variety of outlets, especially on film. Members have performed in such movies as True Lies, The Great Gatsby, Amistad, The Betsy and The Buccaneers.

Musicians in Local 529 of the American Federation of Musicians are committed to teaching and encouraging youth towards an appreciation of music.
